Mail 1: Write to a collaborator or colleague who is late sending you a report

    Lisa hi,

I hope this finds you in great shape!

Can I just have a quick look at the report? I understood you would submit it to me yesterday.

Please let me know if this is possible. If not, or if the turnaround time is too short, please do let me know.

Perhaps I have not made myself clear in what was needed in the report. I am available to speak on the phone if you require more clarity.

    Many thanks,

    Olivia

    Hi Olivia,

This is very good. I have some tips for you:

    1. TONE:

I hope this finds you in great shape! > This is nice, but perhaps too informal. A more formal version could be: I hope this finds you well.

    2. GRAMMAR:

    > I understood you would HAVE submitED it to me yesterday.

    > Perhaps I HADN’T not made myself clear in what was needed in the report.

(You will look at these tenses in detail in the ‘Tell Interesting Stories’ course. However, let me know if you need any clarification)
