Slang
In my opinion, using slang is not a matter of laziness nor intrinsically negative, but a matter of context. Trivially, if you’re grabbing a beer with your friends using slang is acceptable and normal, while in a job interview it is preferable avoiding it.
Personally, I understand slang meaning from the context but in general I tend to avoid using it, since rarely I find myself in a non-formal environment (I haven’t got strict non Italian-speaking friends).
Other than the context you are, you should consider also the people you are talking to (they are part of the context in a certain way, but not exactly). In fact, if you use some expression that not all the people you are talking to understand, is a rude behaviour.
To sum up, I think that although slang is not inherently rude or lazy, it should be use only in informal context, when all people taking part in the conversation are on the same page, so if they are able to understand what are you saying.

Can you try and fix these for me:

> … you should consider also the people you are talking to (clue: word order!)
> … if you use some expression that not all the people you are talking to understand, is a rude behaviour. (clue: a plural and a pronoun are missing)
> … so if they are able to understand what are you saying. (‘if’ is the wrong word)

– … you should also consider the people you are talking to
– … if you use some expressionS that not all people you are talking to understand, IT is a tude behavour.
– … so whether they are able to understand what you are saying
