I do not know Chinese education system and, to be honest, I do not like Chinese system at all. I have just finished reading an interesting book on China, “The perfect dictatorship”, written by the British professor Stein Ringen.

Anyway, English is not a mania, it is an essential and needed mean nowadays. I have the impression that in few years, people not speaking English will be considered as illiterate as those not using PC. If yesterday English was an opportunity, today it is a must for living our world. Parents all over the world are more and more aware of the importance of English for their children.

English is becoming a tool in the life and career of people everywhere, but I do not think it is washing away other languages. I envisage the future where people will be speaking more languages, one in family, one with friends and other with colleagues. Or a mix of languages like in the movie “Blade Runner”.

Is English becoming the language of problem solving?Maybe the same language can ease some difficult situations, but people solve problems, not a language!

You raise good points @onorati66 thanks for sharing.

Would you recommend reading “The perfect dictatorship”?

Watch out with the use of articles:

you need ‘the’ here: … the Chinese education system and also I do not like the Chinese system at all

and you need ‘a’ here: … I have the impression that in a few years

I suggest you check out these lessons to revise this grammar point:

Many thanks Kerin. Indeed, I tend to omit articles, so as to not make mistakes.

I definitely recommend the above book, it is a complete and precise analysis of the social and political Chinese system, written by whom knowing China very well.
