The World’s English Mania.
Walker compares learning English to a mania, especially in China. Would you agree with this?
Well, when comparing to fanatics for religion, rock bands and sports, it looks very similar with all that crowd and people screaming.
Walker asks ‘Why English?‘ and states that the answer is ‘opportunity‘. What’s your opinion on this?
Probably in every big city in the world English is a must. So having such skill will probably make a big impact in your career, even if you are an entrepreneur, knowing how to speak English will make you cross borders and the ability for hiring any person.
Is English mania good or bad? Is English washing away other languages? Is English becoming the language of problem solving?
English mania makes it easy for global communication, even if it can diminish other languages somehow, in the end cultural aspects will be preserved by local habits and history, hence English is more of a tool for uniting any person in the world to any business in the world.
