The Made in Italy
Journalist Annalisa Girardi reveals in her article from Forbes “ Made in Italy: what is behind the worldwide famous label? “ what really represents the Made in Italy in the economy in terms of worth and actions involved. She argues, China is a winning competitor actually in the global market due to the minor costs of the internal productivity, despite this and the crisis of international markets, the Made in Italy with the luxury branch still maintains a minimum growth constantly over the years, even overseas mostly thanks to Chinese clients. Going across economic crisis and high production costs the business activities based in Italy move abroad, where they can strictly reduce costs, but at what price? asks Girardi. According to the Italian government’s measures in the field of competition, they are admitted to change area but no longer allowed to promote the Made in Italy label on their products. In addition to this Girardi notes, they create modern slaves both abroad as well as in Italy with cheap foreign labour from Eastern Asia. That means workers are underpaid and often forced to work in questionable working conditions legally accepted. All this is standing and supporting the Made in Italy.
