Oh, here’s a good story about something that happened to me many years ago in Mexico when I was travelling in Baja California.

I’ll never forget the day I went to see wild whales in Saint Jorge Bay with my Mexican boyfriend. The dream of lifetime

Firstly, we left Mexico City very early in the morning to be sure to get there on time to take accomodation easily for the night. We travelled 12 hours on the bounce (consecutive.” I found the expression “on the bounce” – one after another with nothing else between example: The team has had five wins on the bounce.)

to reach the small village on the west coast of Baja California where everything had been organized to receive us! But when we arrived, after we had spent- got some trouble with the super slow and rickety ferry we were forced to take, it was very late and due to the shortage of electricity, very common in the west coast villages indeed, we couldn’t find the so called “posada” when we should have found hospitality…what a nightmare! The village was totally dark, neither the moon could have helped us, there was new moon!

During the night the village was a free territory for herds of famished dogs. So, we decided to camp outside the village in the middle of nowhere, a real desert with cactus, enormous iguanas and a few snakes and scorpions I suppose , we waited for the morning . Can you imagine it?

Anyway, the night passed, we were alive and very thrilled, in a few hours we were going to see wild whales!

I’ve never seen such marvelous creatures! All the sea around us was moved by ten (?? I’m not sure) of 14 meters long female whales with their puppies (calves), and the most unforgettable thing was when I saw some of them taking their heads off from the water to check around and huge and shiny eyes looked at our boat!

In the end I was so happy that I completely forgot the horrible night I had spent in the desert.

Do you think that art is important to society? Why?

How much Arts are important in our lives?

Today is an important anniversary for the world, is the 50th international Day of Heart. We celebrate the world as a planet made of lands, oceans, mountains, animals and, only at the end, little parasitic animals , us.

This morning I woke up with the idea to celebrate it. In these terrible days is necessary and important to speak about that, especially from when we have understood that there is a connection between the Covid 19 and pollutions and heart explotation.

How every days since the day we’ve been forced to live in quarantine my “obsession” is tighten up with my social network appeal and performance, with the ephemeral hope to survive as tour guide in the future. So I thought to celebrate the Heart Day with a post on my page Scopri Firenze on Facebook (that’s a subliminal advertasing), but I thought, how do it!

It would have been extremely important to keep the correct “ editorial line of the page” so, how speak about heart, ecology, nature end Arts all togheter ?

    Arts help me!

I discovered the so called Land Art today , something that I’ve not ignored in the past but was taken apart for years, and today come to light in my mind .

And even only for this mental process, that only Arts are capable to realize, Arts all are important to society.

There are many way to live and respect nature and artists have found their proper way. Creating pieces of art frequently real masterpieces, to celebrate a possible synergy between two aspect of life that apparently seems so distant one with the other

As exemple look a this! Art could stay everywhere

This is an interesting and inspiring theme to explore! Pronunciation is the hapiness and torment for all learners!

For me it is a reason for hapiness because I’ve just start to recognize some accents, Scottish and Australian for example. Let me tell you something that happen to me this winter. I’m not a tv series obsessed but in order to learn english I decided to watch movies in original sound. This winter I saw a British series called Broadchurch where one of the protagonists is detective Alec HardyHeart Eyes

So, as you immagine I felt in love with him and one of the most seductive aspect was his Scottish accent. I can’t explain exactly what fascinated me but I think is a musical and “warm” accent.

Australian accent instead is very difficult to understand, seems to me that they cut or omitted letters when they are speaking, also I found it a bit “close” and craggy, harsh. I spoke with a friend that is living in Sidney and he told me they are used to pronounce R letter in something that it sounds exactly as an italian A and that bother him!

Go back to your question I really don’t mind speaking with an accent, actually I think is nice and fun, but when Fiorentini stress to much some of our accent characteristics like speak with a potato in the mouth or completely omitting the C sounds they exaggerate and I don’t like it!

    Thanks!

    Regarding to the word TEN…

In italian we use the expression “decine di ..” or “centinaia di…” when we speak about a lot of something . Is it possible to translate in english ?
